dear friend
there are all these abandoned places on the florida highway. they have furniture in them, coat hangers, clothes. the floorboards are weak. they creak and groan (and sometimes break) under your feet.
an abandoned home is the loneliest place. you can imagine the lives of the people who lived there, the bottles they broke getting stumble drunk and the yelling that got done and the love that got made, and then you remember that there’s no one there anymore. no one at all.
