dear normandie
today i went looking for snowdrops in my backyard. there are always a couple every year; i love finding them. it’s the first real signs of spring, of all the ice melting, and the ground will squish beneath my feet and dirty the knees of my jeans when i lay down to peer at the flowers. i have a sense of wonder like a six year old and i pray daily i don’t lose it.
next spring you will be here. next spring will be all ours.
